End of year closeout

Seems a little odd that today is Monday and that it is New Year's Eve day. That's the way mid-week major calendar locked holidays mess with my mind. I'm not back to work until Wednesday and from Friday through today I get mixed-up what day it actually is. So here we are on the last day of 2018.

Most recent, my side of the family Christmas get together was Saturday. A great turnout and a spirited Yankee Swap. We missed having Lindsey my niece's family, her two little ones had ailments to be tended to and Ali had a previously planned family activity.

I mentioned in a previous posted blog about some health maladies I was dealing with one of which turned out to just need time to heal and has done so. The other involved having an MRI to make a diagnoses, that came up clean though still needs a follow up though all is seemingly fine. Now I'm working my way through a normal cold.

The word on recent weather, "Cold". Note the capital C. Not the extreme cold that I'm sure will descend upon us at some point but a steady below freezing cold, sunny, cloudy and overnight with an occasional damp snowfall that freezes over to be a nuisance around the yard. For the most part it been good for the roads and driving abouts.

30th work anniversary that I had posted earlier. I had the opportunity to select an award gift from a catalog, went with a Nikon Coolpix B-500 DSLR camera. A upgrade from my Canon PowerShot that is a fine camera in it's class. Guess I'll have to step-up my photo shooting.

Became more tech enabled with more devices such as Amazon's Alexa Dot and Roku devices.

Sports - Unfortunately my Green Bay Packers had a very disappointing season. Only good thing to come of that is they fired the head coach which I had been hoping for several years they would do. On the other end of the equation the Boston Red Sox had a very successful baseball season by winning the World Series.

I celebrated both my 64th birthday and Carol and my 43rd wedding anniversary.

RV camping - Odd, it appears I didn't post any blog content from our camping forays, though I did post somethings to Facebook. Some good times camping though with a few snags along the way so I'll finish up this post with photos from those occasions.

Not to make it a New Year's resolution I am intending pick up my posting pace maybe not to this month's level but more than the first 11 months of 2018.

Have a Happy New Year!
