Maybe we should all be dead by now or at least not feeling well

During this unusually bad flu season do you ever wonder who may have touched the checkout device at the department store before you or grab a hand rail while walking up public stairs? Ignorance is bliss is the order of the day in most cases. The flu may not be waiting for us but there are plenty of germs of all sorts waiting to catch a ride and a new home. I subscribe to WebMD's health message emails which arrive at least 3 times daily. I don't read most of them as they come to a email account where I send all extraneous things outside of my own personal business. Mostly the info they provide is at the least interesting some of which don't always apply to everyone and some strike close to home. This particular health slideshow focused on germs, "The 15 Germiest Things You Touch Every Day". I couldn't resist. Just the slide titles are enough to make one wonder we're not all laid up in the hospital every few days. Cellphones, remote controls, computer keyboard (germ? What about the food crumbs?), dish sponge (rather not think about it), toothbrush holder (ehew!), anything in the office breakroom (must be a germ orgy in there), dog toys (say it isn't so), money (can't avoid that), your office coffee cup (sacred), the laundry (not what I might have expected), your purse ("your" purse - I'm sure my wallet is pristine), the ATM (drive by germs), shopping carts, soap dispensers (WTF!), kitchen towels, birthday cake (surprise!). For for the gory details of each click on the link. That's a lot to keep up with. I had already been grabbing the antibacterial wipes at the department and grocery stores dispensed at the entry to wipe the cart's handle bar though that wouldn't protect you from the rest of the cart. I may have wiped my phone's screen once in the two and a half years I've had it. If you didn't get enough from the preceding check this out - "11 Public Hot Spots for Germs".

Sleep tight tonight!
