There may be a little bit of Scot in all of us

After many evenings and several weekends hunkered over a Maine Tartan, Carol finished Ian's kilt in time for him to wear it to the Boy Scout Camporee. The theme for the weekend's activities was Highlands games. The scouts were able to try the caber toss and the hammer throw amongst other activities and a large majority of the scouts and adult leaders wore kilts. Carol and I visited the site for bit during the afternoon and not that I looked that closely by I'd bet Ian had the best kilt there, not to mention sporting his trusty LL Bean boots. What do you think?

You can't make an authentic kilt from a kit.

Final fitting.

Well at least he has some Irish in him... hey, do Swedes have a Tartan?

Thanks David, Carol appreciates the compliment. She really enjoyed making it, even talking about doing an Irish Tartan kilt for both my son and myself. Carol recognized your website from her kilt-making research.
