The relationship with our mothers sure does change a lot through the stages of our childhood as well as that of our adult years. Mine is rooted in family connections and respect for what she has done to raise me and my siblings. Now-a-days when we get time together much of it involves talking about things that are going on and seeing the humor in our lives, which had always has been a large part of our communications no matter what stage of our lives it has been. Adding that odd twist to any given subject we were talking about escalates into expanding into more humor. I'd say sharing humor with my mother has always been one of the first things that comes to mind when I think of her. Neither of us is a regular stand up comedian but a good chuckle or two is always bound to happen. There's plenty of things happening that cause us worry, be it family or the news beyond our homes and all that is taken seriously, much of it with concern for the best to come of things. It's the humor around us that helps to keep it all in perspective and that had been fostered quite well in my early years.
Happy Mother's Day Mom!
