Carol and I had an errand to run yesterday and as I had read in the morning paper that the Maine Wildlife Park which was not far off the route we would be taking was having an open house with free admission (donations accepted) we decided to pay a visit. Ian and I had visited there over ten years ago, this was Carol's first time. The place is about 15 minutes drive from where we live. The animals that reside there are for the most part there to rehabilitate from an injury, then released back into the wild. Some of them remain as it is judged they might not survive very long on their own. It was a hot and humid day but pleasant none the less with a great turnout of families with little kids. I spoke with a Inland Fisheries Wildlife biologist about coyote behavior - they're around our house at times looking for kitty food, and I don't mean the type from the grocery store. There are some nice wooded trails leading to several exhibits. Click on the logo to visit their website which will have better photos than I have here.Life is full of good and bad experiences but I seem to find the most pleasure from fleeting moments of each day. Sure I get frustrated a lot more than I should but every now and then "just a little is enough" to keep me going.
