Life is full of good and bad experiences but I seem to find the most pleasure from fleeting moments of each day. Sure I get frustrated a lot more than I should but every now and then "just a little is enough" to keep me going.

Self made stimulas program
Still making an adjustment from the high winds of labor over the last month or so to finding ways to keep somewhat productively busy. There hadn't been much regular work coming my way at the office this week. A little bit for several small proposals and practically nothing for ongoing projects. This has given me time to install some software upgrades I've been sitting on since early April. The Adobe Creative Suite 4 is the big star which upgrades me from CS2. It's the standard version which is plenty of horsepower for the work I do. This package includes Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat Pro 9. The other upgrade is actually my favorite general all-round graphics software, CorelDraw, this is version X4 (actually 14). I upgraded from version 11, I have version 12 on my home computer. I can do a lot of work quickly with it which is a suite of software itself as it comes bundled with Photo Paint and CorelTrace. Though good, Photo Paint is not as good as the gorilla in industry, Photoshop. But it works well with CorelDraw. CorelDraw works as both a linework illustrating program with page layout capabilities. For page layout nothing beats InDesign. The industry standard for computer illustration is Illustrator and try as I might to learn to like it the ease and speed I work with CorelDraw makes it difficult to switch. The problem is that graphic designers in other offices use Illustrator and don't even have CorelDraw so sharing my files with them though not needed often is barely possible though CDraw can save as Illustrator files but the conversion is not perfect. Because of this I feel compelled to try to get better at Illustrator, it just doesn't feel natural.
