Last days of summer '22 Part 2

77 days plus or minus since my last promised post. Doubt it's been the longest of time between posts.

Back to Mount Desert Island for Labor Day vacation. Here are some of the photos from that trip.

Last days of summer '22 Part 1

As the months of summer raced by the heat and humidity have taken charge our choices of activities and comfort outside this summer. Here is some of what we have been up to.

New camper. Yep, traded in the camper for a new one. Had paid off the Cougar earlier this year and move to a smaller Salum.

Madawaska Lake Vacation at Carol's family camp

Two weeks lakeside bliss including a couple of hikes and trips around the region. A few chilly days but no problems with that.

Independence Day Holiday

Finally have the time to note the Independence Day Holiday and activities at the camp, fireworks at my brother-in-law's nearby house and the town parade.

Big deal at the camp.
We have a well now and internet!
Moving up in the world.

Fire works!

Town of Stockholm, Maine Parade
Not quite as robust a parade as previous years.
May have been the economy or whatever.
Don't mind the angle, I was on a slope.

Memorial Day Weekend - dog and cat on vacation and other lessons (late as usual - June 18th))

That time of year to "RELEASE THE CAMPER!" Gas prices are crazy, so we did a somewhat short trip north of Bangor, ME on Memorial Day weekend. The campground was really nice but one thing that may have put some people off... there was an airport flight take off path directly overhead with both commercial and Air National Guard flights regularly. Guess someone forgot to mention it when taking reservations. Regardless this didn't deter us and there were few if any middle of the night flights.

As it is now, we camp with both the cat Scotia (old) and a dog Jackson (year old) so as you can imagine mayhem ensues that the dog wants to bother the cat but it's not so bad except for trying to eat each other's food. At least Jackson can go hiking while Scotia hangs out at the windows watching other campers and their dogs wander by.
