Yep, could start collecting Social Security benefits since my birthday last week but I plan on waiting another 4 years to get full benefits. In the meantime Carol and I when out to dinner that night (last Wednesday) to a local Mexican restaurant, A La Mexicana where we hadn't eaten before. Food, service and prices were all good, a large Modelo Negra for me and a large house margaritas for Carol were not too bad themselves.
Life is full of good and bad experiences but I seem to find the most pleasure from fleeting moments of each day. Sure I get frustrated a lot more than I should but every now and then "just a little is enough" to keep me going.

Holiday weekend wrap up
Though it's been a week plus I'm finally following up with my comment in the previous blog to "stay tuned". Well we did go hiking on that Sunday though the evening before we visited Carol and Lois' cousin John and his wife Linda with neighbor Inga and friends at Pretty Marsh for "happy hour" and a sunset.
The hiking day was as good as it gets as we hiked up the west trail to Mansell Mountain then worked our way westward to Bernard Mountain.

Labor Day Weekend 2016, another get-away
The end of another summer season and as the last 3 or so years Carol and I have arrived at Smugglers Den Campground for the long holiday weekend. This year we left Thursday, a day earlier. An extra day away couldn't hurt. Lois and Jim are also here. Yesterday Carol and I spent the mid-day and afternoon cycling around Acadia National Park's Carriage Trail System. A good mixture of flats, ups and downs, a beautiful day for it. As the night before the four of us chowed down on some good food and drink before calling it a night.
So far today we've just been hanging around the campsite, reading, drinking coffee, taking it easy. Maybe do something but at the moment we're satisfied staying low key. Tomorrow, could be a hiking day. Stay tuned.
